инвестиционный банк 6 стран - участниц "Общего рынка" (Франции, ФРГ, Италии, Бельгии, Нидерландов, Люксембурга). Учрежден в 1958 в соответствии с Римским договором о создании "Общего рынка" (1957). Во главе банка стоит Совет управляющих, в который входят министры финансов стран-членов. Правление банка - в Брюсселе. Разрешенный и выпущенный акционерный капитал - 1 млрд. долл., оплаченный капитал - 250 млн. долл. (в т. ч. 25\% золотом и 75\% в национальной валюте). Остальные 750 млн. долл. служат фондом, гарантирующим займы, заключаемые банком. С мая 1971 разрешенный капитал увеличен до 1,5 млрд. долл., а оплаченный - до 300 млн. долл. Франция и ФРГ подписались каждая на 450 млн. долл., Италия - на 360 млн., Бельгия - на 130 млн., Нидерланды - на 107 млн., Люксембург - на 3 млн. долл. Банк выпускает облигации. К началу 1971 было выпущено облигаций на сумму 1020 млн. долл., из них 2/3 было размещено в странах "Общего рынка" и 1/3 в США. Банк предоставляет займы из 7,5\% годовых государственным и частным предприятиям "шестёрки", а также Греции и африканскими государствам, входящим в Еврафрику. Право инвестиций в последние банк получил с 1963. На 1 января 1971 открытые банком кредиты составили 1393 млн. долл. Кроме того, банк принял участие в проектах инвестиций на общую сумму 4,5 млрд. долл. Выданные кредиты составили 1060 млн. долл. Из открытых кредитов 91\% приходится на "шестёрку" (57\% - Италия, 19\% - Франция, 9\% - ФРГ, 6\% - Бенилюкс), 5\% на Грецию и лишь 4\% на развивающиеся страны, главным образом африканские. Основная масса кредитов предоставлена на создание и улучшение инфраструктуры (строительство железных и автомобильных дорог, гаваней, предприятий связи) и на развитие сельского хозяйства.
